The journey in Borike will take us to a sacred site where bones of our indigenous ancestors were disrespectfully removed from their final resting place. Elders, Taitas, Abuelas will lead the community in a ceremonial circle of Indigenous unity and respect for our cultural heritage and Mother Earth. We will unite our hearts and spirits in ceremony asking the ancestral spirits of the land to give us all the wisdom and courage to defend and protect our homelands with love and respect for all.
We will also honor the memory of our indigenous women who are the life of our nations, especially those who have been stolen and/or murdered.
We are requesting that runners arrived by Friday, March 6, 2020, so we may begin the journey at sunrise on Saturday, March 7, 2020. Due as well to recent earthquakes on the island and displacements of so many families asking each runner to bring a donation if you can.

Those who cannot attend please consider sending a donation to help us bring the sacred Abuelo staff to the region.

The Run will expose Taíno teachings regarding the role of elders in communities with particular attention to their responsibility for law, order and the instilling of values to maintain peace and dignity.

We wish to inform those who have inquired that Kasike( Chief ) Kalaan Nibonrix Kaiman from Yukaike Guani Yameye is the official PDJ Route of The Red Tail Hawk organizer.
He was chosen by the council of elders and he is doing an excellent job bringing the spirit of unification to all of our communities.
He has our total support and we ask you respectfully to communicate your questions about our route to him. Kasike Kalaan Nibonrix is the chosen leader of his community and also a respected Taino Behike /Bohiti ( medicine man).

Run Taíno Run!!! Yamayeka!!! 2019 is a spiritual run to promote awareness of our Taíno ancestors, how they lived and continue to be a part of our lives, and to celebrate our waters, in particular our rivers.
The 2019 run will see runners journeying to the West of the Island with the intention to pray for our rivers.
Our waters can be healed. They can be cleaned and they can be healed. It is our actions that are needed to help them to restore their dignity, to reclaim their spirituality. In Jamaica we have known about the revitalizing and spiritual properties of our waters for a long time. People go to the rivers to be baptized, people go to the rivers for the bath, to the rivers and the seas for their restoring energies. People go to the waters for life. It is therefore imperative that we heal our waters.
The 2019 run will see runners journeying to the West of the Island with the intention to pray for our rivers.

PDJ Caribbean Region to merge with Yucatan 2020
Good news for Caribbean region PDJ runners who will merge with Yucatan PDJ for 2020 journey :)
We have come a long way since Elder Vanessa Inaru Pastrano introduced the PDJ via Boriken to the Caribbean in 2004.
We now have our Sacred Guaraguau staff leading the way for our region with Boriken,Kiskeya,Xamaika and Cuba staffs uniting us as a people once more.
Our Caribbean organizer chosen by the grandmothers council is Kalaan Robert Nibonri Taino Xamaika .
Kalaan will be working closely with all our relatives as in island runs prepare all Caribbean runners for 2020 journey.
We all know he will do a great job and elders council will give him as much support as he needs.
During recent in Island Xamaika run meeting was held with Boriken ,Kiskeya and Xamaika reps.
Plans are in place to support our relatives in Kiskeya for their island run in 2019.
In the meantime plans for 2020 Caribbean region fundraiser are being developed.

A Message From Bohio Atabei for Our People in Xamaika.
We take a moment to express our sincere and heartfelt gratitude to
Ms. Carol Miller the Council of Elders and the members of Sankofie in Xamaika for their support of the Peace and Dignity Journeys Caribbean initiative.
This March 14-21,2018 a PDJ regional run will be held in Xamaika due to the collaboration between Sankofie and Peace and Dignity Journeys.
The Coordinators of this event Ms. Velva Kasabiana Lawrence a member of Sankofie and a PDJ runner 2016,
Ms Lesley Gail Boianani Atkinson have both been working closely with Kalaan Nibonrix Pairman PDJ runner 2016 and now the main Organizer for PDJ Caribbean region.
The regional run respectfully titled "Run Taino Run Yamayeka promises to be a positive spiritual experience for all who listen for the voice of a kind and unified humanity.
Every four years since 1992 the Peace and Dignity Journeys has been spiritually reuniting Indigenous communities across the Western hemisphere. This undertaking is done via an intercontinental spiritual run that crosses the continents
and connects the regions of North, Central, South America and the Caribbean. Indigenous runners from native nations of the Western hemisphere carry prayer staffs from all the four directions of the Americas and meet as one people in the center of the continents.
The endeavor is a powerful prayer in action to fulfill the ancient reunion prophecy of the Eagle and Condor.
Prior to and in preparation for the all native nations intercontinental run regional prayer runs are held in all participating native nations.
Xamaika is to have its first regional run. This run will bring the sacred staff bundle of the Caribbean region to the island.
At that moment the sacred staff of Xamaika which was carried by runners from Xamaika in the intercontinental run of 2016 and is infused with the prayers and blessing of relative native nations will be taken to their communities to receive and embrace the thoughts and prayers sent to them.
During the ceremony and in preparation for 2020 the run will reunite relatives with the power of the run.
The run will also educate and raise a spiritual awareness of the fusion and contributions of indigenous cultures to Jamaica's history.
For many of us already members of the “PDJ's families” it is an honor too once again as our ancestors did join with friends and relatives to Areito dance, run and pray with our Maroon's families.
In doing so we reawaken the ancestral spirits of our people and nations.

Once again we will stand side by side as relatives in an indigenous spiritual movement that will not only heal our people but will reignite the hearts of the youth of this ancient and beautiful Taino homeland.
“So”, they may find in their cultures the wisdom and power to move Xamaika forward in a good and noble way.

Familia, asking that you keep our PDJ runners in your daily prayers. Please pray for their safety and well-being.
Recently they encountered some problems crossing the manmade borders of Abia Yala. A entire contingent of runners 8 US, 7 Mexicas, 2 Jamaican, and 1 Salvadorian were held at one of the border crossings to under bad weather conditions. They had to go the embassy of the country they were not allowed to enter. They had to pay for visas that originally were not needed to then be allowed to continue. They were also exposed to tear gas attacks while in a prayer circle with our Garifuna relatives who were marching against injustice.The entire PDJ family immediately went into action to do whatever was necessary for our runners. Phone calls were made and money was sent to successfully resolve the issues and avoid any further delays and or problems. Our runners are now safe and moving forward. As an Abuela and member of the PDJ family words are not enough to express how proud I feel to be part such a beautiful caring and powerful circle of warriors :) PDJ warriors.
With that said, we again will ask that you help with any donation that you can afford so we can continue to move forward. Please keep to mind that all Indigenous actions big or small are connected. The warriors defending mother earth and our rights as Indigenous nations are being attacked on many fronts. This is why many of our runners went to Standing Rock to help, support and defend alongside other native nations and peoples of kindred spirit our relatives.
This is why PDJ runners joined our relatives in action against injustice in other areas of Abya Yala, and why our runners carry our power of prayer and ancestral wisdom across all of Abya Yala.
Every stand against the injustice being propelled against our people and nations needs our help and our support. So please take a moment to reflect and to help by donating whatever you can.

Today the PDJ prayer run for the sacred seeds of life begins from Chickaloon, Alaska to Kuna Yala (Panama).Please join our elders and runners in spiritual solidarity.

Familia, we are close to starting the 2016 Peace and Dignity Journey run. Runners and vans are already on their way up to Alaska where the run begins. The East Coast is preparing for the runners from Caribbean who will be joining us first week of July, when our route begins.
This sacred run is
carried out every four years when we bring the prayers of our communities
together in the form of staffs that have been consecrated to represent the
ancestors of our people. We call our staffs the Abuelos and Abuelas, grandfathers
and grandmothers, for indeed they are imbued with the very essence of their
prayers. When our runners arrive carrying these sacred staffs, they are a gift that
they bring to your communities. When our elders on the run speak, they share their
wisdom. When ceremony is done in spirit, our people are reawakened and healed.
It gives us all the strength to continue and to be proud of who we are.
Through the prayers and teachings of our people, our organizers, coordinators, and runners, we are all committed to reuniting our communities as we bridge the manmade borders that have separated us from each other since 1492. It is with love and respect that we share the wisdom of our ancestors for the survival of all life on our beautiful Mother Earth.
The Peace and Dignity Run is also an act of courage and defiance for our runners and elders because each time we cross these manmade borders, we are declaring that we are the Indigenous people of this land, the bones of our ancestors are buried on this land, and we will honor our cultural heritage with the same love, respect and courage our ancestors had.

A Message from the Elders: The Journey Continues 2016
Nolpopocayan is the place where we all came together where the Cuixin huactli, Guaraguau brother to Cuauhtli and Condor entered into the Ketzals dance of unification as the ancestors wanted it to be.
That journey to Nolpopocayan in Guatemala began in 1992 and as prophesied in a great tlateomatiliztli (ceremony) in the land of the Condor Ecuador reinforced in the North and in the Caribbean,
It came to be.
So it was that in Guatemala the unification of the sacred waters from mictlampa
There In Nolpopocayan (the center) once again we as cencalli (family) came together. We renewed our sacred bonds as relatives,
No longer to be noncuah (apart) but once again to walk in necetiliztli (unity).
I share this with all of you for you to know the importance of that Unity and how important it was to have the Caribbean join PDJ
I will always be grateful to our Caribbean runners for carrying the prayers and Sacred Hawk staff of Caribtlalampa
Note in 2016 we will reinforce that unity as such may it be our people will understand the spiritual significance of this journey and what it means to us and all of our relatives of Abya Yala
We must be grounded spiritually to be embraced by the spirits of the ancestors their wisdom and their protection.
